Account & Data Deletion

1. How accounts work here

School Saathi accounts are created and managed by your school — parents, students, teachers and staff cannot sign themselves up. Your school office controls which accounts exist, what student records they hold, and when they are removed. That is why deletion requests flow through the school first: the school is the custodian of its own records.

अभिभावक, विद्यार्थी और शिक्षक अपना खाता स्वयं नहीं बनाते — खाते स्कूल द्वारा बनाए और प्रबंधित किए जाते हैं। इसलिए खाता हटाने का अनुरोध सबसे पहले अपने स्कूल कार्यालय से करें।

2. Request deletion (parents, students, teachers)

• Step 1 — Ask your school office. Tell them which account (mobile number / student ID / email) you want removed. The school can deactivate the login immediately and request removal of the underlying records.
• Step 2 — The school confirms with us. We act on the school's confirmed instruction and remove the account and associated personal data from the live system.
• Step 3 — Confirmation. The school office confirms back to you once removal is complete.

If you cannot reach your school, or you believe your request was not honoured, contact us directly through the contact page with your school's name and the account identifier. We will coordinate with the school on your behalf.

3. What gets deleted, and what must be kept

• Deleted: login credentials and trusted devices, notification/push registrations, message-consent records, profile photos, and app activity linked to the account.
• Retained where the law requires: Indian schools must keep certain academic and fee records (admission registers, examination results, fee receipts) for statutory periods. Those records belong to the school's official register and are retained by the school even after the login account is deleted.
• Timeline: account deactivation is immediate on the school's action; removal of associated personal data from live systems completes within 30 days, with backups cycling out on our standard backup schedule.

4. Removing the app is not the same as deletion

Uninstalling the School Saathi app from your phone removes it from your device but does not delete your account or your data at the school. Use the steps above for actual account and data removal.
